GoCASP: The Cross-Application Signaling Protocol (CASP) Implementation at Uni Goettingen

GoCASP is an implementation of the Cross-Application Signaling Protocol (CASP) on the Linux operating system at the Georg-August University of Goettingen. It is released under the GNU General Public License, and the whole package consisting of complete source code, binaries, and documentation can be obtained from this website.

Releases:

• Release of GoCASP version 0.2.0 (March 18, 2005)

  Some bugs fixed and tested with support for a QoS client

• Release of GoCASP version 0.1.2 (July 9, 2004)

  Added features of this version are mainly IPv6 support for messaging layer, static discovery, ping client, and benchmarking, as well as a few bug-fixes.

The code, along with information on how to install and configure the options in GoCASP-0.1.2 can be obtained here. See the README, RELEASE_NOTES and COPYING files in the release for further information.

• Release of GoCASP version 0.1.0 (November 10, 2003)

  Supported features of this version are:

  • CASP messaging layer base protocol,
  • Static discovery,
  • Scout protocol for discovery,
  • A simple, self-defined client application - "ping",
  • Multiple simultaneous "ping" clients.
  • TBD: port to GIMPS; TCP-->(TCP,SCTP,UDP); QoS client; robustness esp. against node failure and route change handling; tunneling support; mobility support; IPv6 support.

  The code, along with information on how to install and configure the options in GoCASP-0.1.0 can be obtained here. See the files README for further information and RELEASE_NOTES for the current implementation status. Please read the file COPYING for copyright information.

  Note: due to limited time & resources available we are not able to test thoroughly every detail. This is a research prototype so use it at your own risk!

• November 2003: caspd incorporated and integrated tested
• September 2003: plugable discovery & clients introduced
• August 2003: threading works
• July 2003: messaging layer socket processing tested; ported to GNU
• April 20, 2003: project starts
